Personal Information cancelEditEdit Personal InformationActivities:In the family of Mr. and Mrs Mkwela, Adili is the 5th born of six children consisting of four great boys and two beautiful girls. From a young age, Adili has shown talent in music, basketball and entertainment. His interest became a serious journey when he started playingbasketball for the national basketball league. Fans nicked-named Adili ‘Allen Iverson’ and ‘magnetic palm’ because of his ball-handling abilities and unstoppable crossover, which shut down ‘the dream’ and ankles of his opponents. His other passion for music composition and lyric writing was largely inspired and nurtured by his brother Adam, who fed him with Tanzanian and international hip hop listening materials including artists such as; NWA, Digable Planets, Public Enemy, Das EFX, MC Shan, KRS One and Nas. This lead to him recording his first single in 2002 entitled "PEKE YANGU". The lyrics of this track became a Tanzanian national anthem and were forever on the lips of music fans all over the country. Furthermore, PEKE YANGU was nominated for the Radio
One, BBC Music Awards and Best Song of the Year in 2003. Adili then formed a partnership with Professor Jay
forming their own squad "CHOKA MBAYA", which metaphorically means "HUNGER FOR MORE". The hard working youngster established his own company ‘Chapakazi’ (hard workers) in 2004. It started as a
small audio visual company mainly recording gospel Music videos. However, after two short years Chapakazi
developed into one of the top audio visual companies in Tanzania. Specialising in quality video, including
bongo fleva and Hip-hop video clips, Chapakazi was nominated in the category of ‘Best Video Producer’
(2006) in the Kilimanjaro Music Awards which are considered the most prestigious awards in the country, a
truly remarkable achievement considering his recent entry into the visual industry. Currently Adili is developing his company to include his own clothing line and is designing for local artists. He
was also contracted to design the promotional line for 50cent when he came to Tanzania and this years
Fiesta Festival circuit. Other achievements include being a Board member of WAPI (WORDS AND PICTURES) conducted through the
British Council. He also participated in an exchange program through Music Mayday which gave him the
opportunity to travel to Amsterdam. Adili is looking forward to pushing his company into the forefront of East
African media and developing the media industry as a whole.Interests:playin ball, listern ta music, work hard
